The current study is part of the BMWi research project “Energiewende and international aspects – opportunities and challenges for German politics and industry”, which is being jointly carried out by adelphi, the Institute of Economic Structures Research (GWS) and Prognos AG. This substudy takes a thorough look at that various policy conditions that have developed in recent years in the important German export markets, and which further developments can be anticipated. Consequently, the impacts of political regulations and strategies on the expansion of EE in eight target countries will be investigated, and the effects of local value creation and local content regulations will be analysed. In conclusion, these will be introduced in the respective countries, in the context of the export and import opportunities for German service providers. The target countries examined in the individual case studies are France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Poland, the USA, Chine, India and Thailand.
