adelphi research is an independent think tank for environmental and development policy research and analysis.
Founded in 2001, the research institution has introduced new findings and ideas into politics. With application-oriented research and concrete proposals for action, adelphi research promotes sustainable development and helps improve environmental and development policy in practice.
Our 170 employees engage in highly qualified, interdisciplinary scientific work, primarily in the areas of climate protection and adaptation, energy and natural resources, green investment and financing, and sustainable economic and foreign policy. The foundation of our research involves relevant methodology from the political and social sciences (e.g. Dephi studies, scenario analyses, structured expert consultations, etc.). We share the results of our work with the broader public through public relations efforts, lectures, publications and events.
As a private, non-profit institute, adelphi research is financed by grants and project funding. Supporters and sponsors include the European Union, in particular DG Research, the BMBF and other federal ministries, the Federal Environment Agency and foundations.
adelphi research was last recognised as a non-profit organisation by the Tax Office for Corporations I in Berlin on 13 September 2021. We pursue the following non-profit objectives:
- Promotion of science and research (Section 52 Paragraph 2 Clause 1 No. 1 AO),

- Promotion of development cooperation (Section 52 Paragraph 2 Clause 1 No. 15 AO),
