Support Services for the GIZ Sector Project on International Biodiversity and Forest Policy (SV IBWP)

The sector project (SV) “International Biodiversity and Forest Policy” of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) supports the BMZ in shaping policy and implementation processes to promote biodiversity, environmental, marine, and forest conservation. The primary focus is on achieving the goals of the 2030 Agenda, the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), and the Convention on Biological Diversity, as well as closely related international processes such as the G7 and G20 and the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.

The consortium comprising adelphi, GeoMedia, and s.Pro, along with other experienced experts, supports the sector project in fulfilling its advisory role to the BMZ. The specific focus is on the following areas: the GBF and CBD processes, biodiversity financing, protected areas, combating poaching and the illegal wildlife trade, forests, as well as impact monitoring, communication, and (technical) public relations.
